Conscious Kshama · the 48-day forgiveness protocol

You are carrying names you stopped choosing to carry.

A 48-day guided practice to put the weight down — from your parents, from the people who hurt you, from yourself, and from life itself.

Holding a grudge feels like strength.

It is closer to drinking poison and waiting for the other person to suffer.

The person who hurt you is asleep tonight. They are having dinner, watching something, resting well. You are the one still awake at two in the morning, prosecuting a case in a court that never sits.

And every time you replay it, your body cannot tell the difference between the memory and the event. The same tight jaw. The same shallow breath. The same stress chemistry. So they hurt you once — and you have now hurt yourself four hundred times.

This is why forgiveness is, in the end, perfectly selfish. The person who benefits most from it is you.

Four directions

Most people work one direction. There are four.

Leave any one of them open and the others never fully close.

i

The people who hurt you

Your parents first — they wrote the template that every other relationship in your life still runs on, before you were old enough to agree to it. Then everyone else, one named person at a time.

ii

Yourself

The hardest of the four, and the one most people have been avoiding the longest. You would never speak to a friend the way you have been speaking to yourself.

iii

The people you have hurt

Somebody is carrying your name right now, with a line describing what you did and a number beside it. Almost no teaching covers this direction. This one repairs the world and not only you.

iv

Life itself

The diagnosis that arrived for no reason. The loss. The years. The body that failed you. Nobody teaches you to forgive the things that had no author.

The structure

Forty-eight days, in eight movements.

One task a day. Thirty to forty-five minutes. Every sixth day is lighter on purpose — that is what stops people dropping out in week three.

Shaded days are the lighter ones — one every sixth day.

IDays 1–6

DarshanaSeeing the weight

Nothing is forgiven this week. You make the honest list — every name, every score, every year carried — and count what it has cost you in sleep, health and hours of replay. Then you set the vow you will carry for the next 43 days.

IIDays 7–12

ShodhanaClearing the body

You cannot reason a resentment out of a clenched jaw. Before any mental work, you find where each hurt lives in your tissue and give it an exit — through shaking, cooling breath, tapping, and twenty uncensored minutes on paper that you then burn.

IIIDays 13–18

MulaThe root

You name the gap between what your parents gave and what you needed, write their life as a biography, and complete the three-page Unsent Letter — including the page where they finally reply. This is the week people write to me about afterwards.

IVDays 19–24

JanaEveryone else

A five-step method tested in more than thirty controlled trials, applied one person at a time. By Saturday you can run it in a single sitting, on anybody, for the rest of your life — without this programme.

VDays 25–30

AtmaForgiving yourself

Why excusing and self-punishment are both escapes. Separating guilt from shame. Naming the heaviest thing exactly once, without euphemism. Designing a repair with a date on it. And meeting the younger version of you who did it.

VIDays 31–36

YachanaAsking forgiveness

The six components of an apology that research shows actually works — and which two matter most. You deliver one, in under sixty seconds. And for everyone you cannot reach: Ho'oponopono, and the old practice of Micchami Dukkadam.

VIIDays 37–42

VishwaForgiving life

Silver linings are banned for six days. You exhaust the question that has no answer, move to the one that always does, make peace with the body that has carried you, and end with loving-kindness for the difficult person.

VIIIDays 43–48

SthitiHolding it

A written protocol for when the anger returns. Boundaries with the exact sentences rehearsed aloud. Your re-assessment against day four. And one date in the calendar that becomes your Kshama Day, every year, for life.

Evidence

Old practice. Tested method.

Nothing here asks you to believe anything.

The core method has been through more than thirty controlled trials, including studies run in India. In 2024 it was used in the largest forgiveness study ever conducted — more participants than every previous forgiveness study combined — across five countries that have lived through real conflict.

The writing practice you use almost daily has two hundred peer-reviewed studies behind it. The apology framework comes from experiments with 755 people that established which parts of an apology actually carry weight, and which are decoration.

And the frame around all of it is our own: kshama, prayaschitta, and a line from the Mahabharata that says the universe is held together by forgiveness.

4,598

Fit

Who this is for.

Enrol if

  • There is a name you have carried for years and quietly given up on
  • You have forgiven others but never yourself
  • You owe an apology you have been avoiding for a long time
  • You are angry at something that had no person attached to it
  • You want a structure rather than another idea about letting go
  • You will write by hand for half an hour a day, for six weeks

Do not enrol if

  • The harm is still happening, or you are in any current danger — safety first, and this will wait for you
  • You want a single powerful session rather than a daily practice
  • You are hoping this will change the other person
  • You are looking for permission to stop feeling angry without doing the work

If you are living with trauma, abuse, or persistent depression, this programme can sit alongside therapy — not replace it. Several days are built to surface difficult material, and a good professional helps you hold it.

Your teacher

Taught by Dr. Sarvajna Krishna

Holistic educator and founder of Conscious Living Solutions, working across Bangalore and Sharjah. Twenty years of sitting with people who were carrying things they no longer needed to carry — a father who had not spoken to his son in nine years, a woman still angry at a business partner from 2011, a young man who could not forgive himself for one decision made at twenty-three.

Trained in breathwork, Swara Vidyā, the Pancha Kosha framework and the Vedic sciences. This programme is the method he arrived at after two decades — and it is built to be handed over, so that by day forty-eight you no longer need him or the workbook.

Questions

Questions people ask.

Do I have to contact anyone?

Only once, on day thirty-four, and only if the person is reachable and it is safe. Everything else happens in private. Many people complete the whole programme without a single person knowing they did it.

Does forgiving mean I have to let them back in?

No. This is the most important distinction in the programme and we return to it repeatedly. Forgiveness is free; trust is earned. You can fully forgive someone and never lend them money again, never attend the family event, and never speak to them. Day forty-four is spent writing exactly what access each person now has, in your own words.

What if they never apologised, or they have died?

Both are covered directly. Kshama in our tradition does not wait for the other person's repentance — Ambarisha forgave Durvasa while the injustice was still standing in the room. And for anyone who has died or cannot be reached, day thirty-five and the letter practice on day seventeen are built exactly for that.

How much time does it really take?

Eight minutes in the morning, twenty to thirty for the day's practice, three minutes at night. Four or five days ask for longer — the letter days, and the day you deliver an apology. Every sixth day is deliberately light.

Can I start any time, or do I wait for a cohort?

You begin the day you enrol. The live calls run on a fixed schedule and are recorded, so people at different points in their forty-eight days sit in on the same call — which turns out to help, because you hear from someone three weeks ahead of you.

Is this religious?

It draws on kshama, prayaschitta and Micchami Dukkadam because those traditions understood this subject long before the research did — and it uses them as method, not as belief. People of every faith and of none have done this work. Nothing asks you to accept anything.

I have tried to forgive before and it did not hold.

Almost certainly because you made the decision and then waited for the feeling. Those are two different things on two different timelines, and confusing them is why most people conclude they have failed. Day one addresses this, and the method is built around it.

Will you contact the people on my list?

Never. Nothing you write is shared with anyone, including me. The workbook is yours, and several of its pages are designed to be burned.

Forgiveness is not forgetting. It is putting the weight down.

Forty-eight days from today, you will have a list with lines struck through it, an apology you finally made, and a three-minute practice that means no day's hurt survives the night.
